I love photos of cups - it doesn't matter if it is a typical splash photo, just a cup filled with coffee or anything else. I don't know why - cups are so simple but have a kind of magic in photos - you know what I mean? I don't think so :)

So I've recognized that my photo stream doesn't contain a photo of a cup. I planned to keep it very simple with a very small depth of field. And thats the result - maybe you can post your cup photos! I want to see all of them ;)

First to say: This photo wasn't planned in this way. I planned to do some shots where the wire will burn because the glass has been destroyed. I think you know that kind of photos. But after destroying the glass of the light bulb, I recognized that I don't have a socket to mount it in a nice way to take a photo... So I've decided to take another shot of this.

Since I haven't used my Raynox close up lens for a long time (because I've sold my AF-S 70-300 VR some month ago), I had to try if this also works in combination with my 85mm 1.8 D. And it seems like it does ;)

I had some time to do some post processing work during the day - so I've decided to upload another photo to my photo stream. I've planned to add a new photo to my 2500mm project. So I had to search for photos which have been taken with the Sigma 50mm 1.4. Since I haven't taken any new photos during the last two weeks I was not able to upload a new photo... Sorry for that - new stuff will follow as soon as possible!

I've chosen this photo because I love the light and the "silence" which is delivered. For me it looks like the perfect place on earth - without the need to think about the rough days during the week and the bad weather. But it wasn't that silent as it seems like. In my back was a big street which is not that high frequented, but from minute to minute a car passes with about 100 km/h.

The post processing was really easy. I've lighted up the sky a little bit and increased the saturation and contrast. Because of the usage of the 16 mega pixel D7000 it was possible to crop the image hardly. And I do not plan to print this, so for Flickr/the web the quality is fine.

What do you think about this?

With this photo I plan to change the way how to format my photo descriptions. But, what will change and why? I have registered my Flickr Account in June 2008 and crossed a lot of differed "phases".

1. I've bought a Lumix FZ-18 and shot nearly everything. And the quality step from using a small compact camera to a bridge camera is very big - so I liked every single photo I took and uploaded a big number of them to Flickr.

2. I recognized that I do not get any comments on other photos. Because of that I checked my older photos again and deleted one after the other. The plan was: Just upload the best photos you take. That was a nice idea but without any interaction on other sites, profiles and photos I will not any click or comment. So the most of my photos got 20 to 100 clicks and 1 to 10 comments/favorites. That was not that much.

3. I joined hundreds of groups and put all of my photos into them. This will increase the number of comments immediately - but the quality of the comments is still bad (because in some groups you just get these award comments). I stopped this and left all the groups ... Bad idea #1

4. I planned to comment and started to copy and paste on other photos. Sorry for that - thats not the way how Flickr works and I stopped this after a few weeks ... Bad idea #2

5. Now I've planned to write more information to my photos. Why I've taken every single photo and how it was done. Actually I haven't written any further information to the most of my photos - just the used equipment and sometimes a few sentences. But that will change now (hopefully). I will give you a closer look to my work and what inspires me.
